Socos & the live project band were formed in October 2004 by: Marinos Tziaros (vocals, synthesizers and percussion), Dimitris Antoniadis (drums), Nektarios Kordoumenos (bass), Babis Antonatos (guitar) and socos (guitar), and released their first album, entitled "Tears of the dream" in January 2005.

A few months later, the band was joined by Maria Latsinou (voice) and with this line-up they released two more albums, "kafka" and "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" in 2007 and 2009 respectively. In the summer of 2009, personal reasons led Nektarios Kordoumenos to leave the band and after a three month search, his position was filled by Kyriakos Vorgias. In October 2011 they released their fourth album, entitled "urban guerrila".

In the summer of 1990 socos, John Praftsias (drums) and Nektarios Kordoumenos (bass), formed a band called requiem. Their material had English lyrics, and after reiterating most of the metal spectrum, they ended-up with an American hardcore sound, but with a British punk perspective.

Up until 1993, the lead singer of requiem was Panagiotis Liotsakis, who was then replaced by Spiros Makris until the dissolution of the band in 2000. Their frequent live appearances, combined with their explosive presence, helped them gain a steady following and a growing commotion around their name.

The death of Spiros Makris from heroin use and communication problems between band members led to its final dissolution.

Requiem released 3 demo tapes, but no records.

Tziaros and socos have known each other since high school, when Tziaros, along with Dimitris Tselos (guitar, vocals), Sotiris Bollas (drums), Panagiotis Tsaparas (guitar), Alexandra Thanelou (keyboards) and later Panagiotis Koukouvinos ( keyboards) and Charalambos Tzanakakis (bass), formed a band named "fykia". In 1993 socos took the place of guitarist and in 1997 Kordoumenos that of bass player. At the time, both socos and Kordoumenos felt the need to experiment with other idioms, apart from the hard sound of requiem.

This collaboration resulted in a large shift in the sound of "fykia".

As far as live performances are concerned, "fykia" were a very active band.

The band, consisting of Marinos tziaros (voice), Sotiris Bolas (drums), Nektarios Kordoumenos (bass) and socos (guitar), participated with three songs in the "mustrockchalastes" collection which was released by fm records in 2000. In the final years of the band Praftsias played drums.

There never recorded any albums.

In autumn 2000, Christos Alexopoulos, a known frequenter of the "voices" studio of Xenophontas Xenias, where "requiem" as well as "fykia" used to rehearse, was desperately searching for a guitarist for a live gig. Socos was suggested by the studio's sound engineer, George Priniotakis and so began a long collaboration. The singer in Alexopoulos' band was Maria Latsinou.

At a live appearance of socos & the live project band at the "epi kolono" theater in December 2005, Latsinou, who was in the audience, was asked to join the band on stage for an improvisational jam. The result was such that the band unanimously decided to ask Latsinou to join the band.

Antonatos was also a patron of the "voices" studio with a band playing sounds of an undetermined style. A particularly dark guy with an even darker playing style. Just the kind of sound socos was looking for.

Socos and Antoniadis and met in September 2004 in a basement studio in Chalkida. Their first contact was a 45 minute jam (which was recorded!). It was in fact Antoniadis and his explosive playing that made socos decide to form a band again.

Since 2004 socos & the live project band have been recording at the "artracks" studio with sound engineers and co-producers George Priniotakis and Alexios Bolpasis.

They regularly record for Christos Alexopoulos' Puzzlemusik.
